Some basic rules to know:
- In Senegal the basins need to “gain” 4 to 6°C from December to April 22°C to 26/28°C
- Water cooling takes place at night when nighttime temperatures drop to
20°C or less. It is mainly cooling by air/water convection which will balance the surface temperature of the pool with that of the external environment over approximately 20 to 30 cm by evaporating water.
- The heat rises, therefore the hot water rises … the thermal strata are not a legend.
- It takes 1.16 Kw to heat 1 m3 by 1°C
- The concrete of the basins is a very great thermal insulator
From these rules, we can deduce that:
- Above all, do not operate the filtration at night because this causes water movement and moving water is much more cooled than stagnant water.
- It is important to push back through the bottom of the pool; for this reason, infinity pools heat up better than skimmer pools or backflows
are on the surface.
In Senegal swimming pools can be heated in 3 different ways:
- Solar: Solar Carpet, Thermal Sensors
- Heat Pump: Heat Pump
- Electric: resistors for small pools or Spas
